Save the Children - case study

Challenge to meet

Save the Children is the leading independent organization creating lasting change in the lives of children in need in the United States and around the world. Recognised for their commitment to accountability, innovation and collaboration, their work takes them into the heart of communities, where they help children and families help themselves.

Save The Children wanted to raise the skill and knowledge levels of some of their internal employees who were reguarly contributing to the UK intranet in order to help with consistency of design and format of contributions.

What we did

WWe developed a one day in-house training course on the tools used internally to update content and combined this course material with some best practice usability tips. The overall skill level was introductory rather than some of the public and in-house courses we have delivered for other organisations.

How this was achieved

We worked with the Internal Communications department to set the course outline and continued to refine subject areas with the team. Once we had agreed a training framework we set about developing the course material and made sure the course was as interactive and participatory as possible.

Benefits and outcomes

The employees that we trained at Save The Children now have a much better understanding of Usability and Intranet best practice. They also know how to work with the internal tools they have and some of the constraints within which they operate.

Testimonial

Spotless Interactive delivered an excellent one day training course for our intranet editors, which gave them a useful introduction into web usability and accessibility issues.
